Our vision for our Shining Unschooling Conference was to gather together and create a real life unschooling community, much like John Holt described in Instead of Education. This conference will have Voices of the Shine community to inspire you in their talks, and more hearthside conversations so that everyone has the chance to participate/contribute/connect.This conference is about YOU!!...(and you, and you, and yes, you...) We weren’t kidding when we said the Shine at this conference is about YOU. As we gather at the Hearth, anyone who is so inclined can choose to participate in deep and thought-provoking discussions. Here, we will gather to talk about the aspects of living this glorious unschooling life that is of interest/concern to YOU.

The Café ~
I Am.
There is a seating area in the snack bar for us to gather and connect and talk or not talk. Also, this is the place that gets the best wi-fi connection. So come on in and make yourself comfortable. Grab something from the snack bar or bring your own cuppa deliciousness from your own site. Sip and sit. Or stand. Do your lap-top gaming or catch up with facebook. Chat with your friends. Say “Hi” to a stranger and make a new friend. Or be in your own space as a silent witness. Knit. Draw. Think. Shine. Breathe. Be Present. Just Be.
The Doing, The Creating and The Connecting ~
Sheer Joy.
Our arts & crafts area is the gathering place for F-U-N! It is located at the back of the Yogi Theater, the location for the talks and the hearthside discussions. This way, you can listen in and be doing something cool (and fairly quiet, please!) with your child/ren. Really ~ there is Stuff To Do all of the time here…craft materials for Art Trading Cards or cootie catchers or whatever you are inspired to create, (there will be a featured craft of the day, in addition to other materials around all of the time to use...please feel free to contribute to the materials if you are so inclined!)...
We found at last year's conference that this was such a wonderful place and activity to make new friends through the glorious connection of Joy. So EnJoy!
