At any particular moment of any day, you have the freedom to choose what your family feels like doing…you can follow the flow and rhythm of your own lives, either taking advantage of the campground's numerous amenities or checking out the schedule and partaking in the Shining Offerings. The possibilities will seem infinite!!
The amenities at our 2010 Camp Shine location are absolutely WONDERFUL!!
The Pools ~
A beautiful Olympic size pool and an attached heated spray pool!!

The spray pool is a waterpark-style pool with multiple spray features, that throw water around any which kind of way. It is only 18" deep at the deepest, because the fun is in the air! The pool will be a comfortable 80-82 degrees throughout the season, so you can have fun even on the cool days!
Here are the main features of the spray pool:
The Rain Drop is a 10 ½ foot high mushroom, with a huge cap. 300 gallons of water per minute pour off the cap on all sides, forming a curtain you can step behind!

The Starburst is a five armed spray piece with a central mast, capable of a flow of 600 gallons per minute! Each arm does something different! There is a pipe shower, a waterfall, a "tulip" with an upward flower like spray, and more!

The Tumblebuckets are a 20 foot tall set of five buckets that randomly fill, and then suddenly dump over on your head!
Not pictured are smaller sprayers in the shallowest part of the pool, especially fun for the littlest children.
The Lake ~
Enjoy family fishing? This lake is stocked with bass and bluegills, and you don't need a license to fish.
You can also rent paddleboats ($10 deposit which is returned, and then $5/half hour) or bring your own kayaks (there must be a person at least 18 years of age in any boat ~ rented or your own ~ with younger children, and if you bring your own kayaks, you must bring your own life vests, too).
The Playgrounds ~
The Sports Complex ~
Basketball, tennis, paddleball, baseball/softball, volleyball, shuffleboard and horseshoes!!
I am foreseeing some awesome games of Shining Unschooling Whiffleball in our future (we will redefine whiffleball as well, I'm sure!)!!
The Game Lounge ~
Ping-pong, pool, video games, skeeball, air hockey and loads of other games are here...you even receive tickets from some of the games to redeem for prizes.
The Snack Bar ~

While the snack bar isn't usually open Monday - Friday before school gets out, Michael said that he would staff it for us! Ice cream, sundaes, hot chocolate, pizza, french fries, hot dogs...all the usual *snack bar* snacks are available here, as well as our own Shining space to gather and connect.
The "Comfort Stations" (rest rooms/showers) ~

Yes, I have to add these comfort stations to the wonderful amenities at our Camp Shine, because they are SUPER CLEAN!!
We toured the site on the Fourth of July, when the campgrounds was at CAPACITY, and the bathrooms and showers were spotless (the women's *and* the men's ~ which is rare, if ya know what I mean...).
Michael said that the best compliment he ever got about how clean the bathrooms are was a woman asking if anybody ever used them!! So if you are tenting, rv'ing, or renting a cabin, have no fear ~ this Jellystone takes pride in the cleanliness of its "comfort stations."
The Laundry Facilities ~
(More amenities to come!!)
